The Chief Election Commissioner of Bangladesh, AMM Nasir Uddin, highlighted the government's essential involvement in the electoral process, declaring that elections cannot proceed without its support. Despite the Commission's purported independence, Uddin stressed the necessity of government aid.
Speaking in Dhaka, Uddin noted the critical contributions from law enforcement and administrative agencies to ensure a successful election. While formal and informal communications persist with the government, no ongoing direct communication exists, he added.
AMM Nasir Uddin assured that election plans will be revealed in due course, following the announcement by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus that national elections are slated for early April next year.
