Malaysia Urges Calm Amid Rising Middle East Tensions
Malaysia's foreign ministry calls for restraint following U.S. strikes in the Middle East. Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan communicated this to Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim warned that further tensions could destabilize the global economy, especially if the Strait of Hormuz is affected.

Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, Malaysia's foreign ministry has called for all parties involved to exercise maximum restraint. The appeal comes after U.S. military actions against Iranian nuclear facilities sparked concerns about regional stability.
In a crucial meeting held in Istanbul, Malaysia's Foreign Minister Mohamad Hasan relayed this message to his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi. This development was shared by Malaysia's foreign ministry in a post on X.
Adding his voice to the call for calm, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim cautioned that the involvement of external powers, particularly the United States, could further exacerbate the situation. He noted that any disruption, such as a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, would significantly impact the global economy.
