The West Bengal Assembly descended into chaos on Monday as four BJP legislators, including chief whip Shankar Ghosh, were suspended for disorderly conduct.
The chaos erupted over expunged comments, prompting a protest led by Ghosh, who was joined by around 40 BJP MLAs. Tensions escalated when the legislators disrupted minister Chandrima Bhattacharya's speech.
Speaker Biman Bandyopadhyay ordered the suspension of the four MLAs for not complying with his directives. Allegations of physical assault on BJP members by alleged TMC-aligned security also surfaced amid ongoing tensions between both parties.
