TMC's Alifa Ahmed Clinches Victory in Kaliganj By-election
Trinamool Congress' Alifa Ahmed wins the Kaliganj by-election, defeating BJP's Ashish Ghosh and Congress' Kabil Uddin Shaikh by a margin of 50,049 votes. Celebrating the victory, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee credited the triumph to the party's core values and dedicated it to the late Nasiruddin Ahmed.

Trinamool Congress candidate Alifa Ahmed has emerged victorious in the Kaliganj assembly by-election, defeating BJP's Ashish Ghosh and Congress' Kabil Uddin Shaikh by a margin of 50,049 votes. As per the Election Commission of India, Ahmed secured 1,02,759 votes, while Ghosh received 52,710 votes and Shaikh garnered 28,348 votes. A total of 2,502 votes went to NOTA.
The by-election, held due to the passing of TMC leader Nasiruddin Ahmed, drew heartfelt gratitude from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Banerjee took to social media, thanking the diverse community of voters for their overwhelming support and attributing the win to the principles of Maa-Mati-Manush.
Alongside expressing gratitude, Banerjee paid tribute to Nasiruddin Ahmed, dedicating the victory to his memory and emphasizing the thorough efforts of TMC's Kaliganj team. This election cycle also saw wins in other states, with AAP's Gopal Italia securing Visavadar, BJP's Rajubhai Chavda taking Kadi in Gujarat, and other key victories across Kerala and Punjab.
