German Defence Minister Urges Continued U.S. Support in Ukraine

Boris Pistorius, the German Defence Minister, has underscored the significant role the United States plays as an ally in the Ukraine conflict. On Wednesday, he expressed these views during an interview with ARD broadcaster.

Pistorius emphasized the high stakes of maintaining American engagement, stating that the situation goes beyond a mere regional dispute. "Keeping the Americans (...) on board when it comes to Ukraine - this is important because there is more at stake here than just a regional conflict," he remarked.

The minister also indicated that efforts are ongoing to prevent the U.S. from disengaging. However, he admitted uncertainty about the outcome, concluding, "We'll have to see whether we succeed."
