Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has raised concerns over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in Bihar, accusing the NDA government of purposefully disenfranchising poor and marginalized voters. Singh, along with other leaders from the INDIA bloc, is considering judiciary action if the Election Commission dismisses their objections.
Singh expressed doubts regarding the feasibility of the ongoing SIR drive, pointing out the logistical challenge of verifying eight crore voters within just 25 days. He highlighted potential voting rights violations and asserted that these actions would lead to significant injustice for many marginalized communities in Bihar.
Aside from electoral concerns, Singh also criticized Bihar's education system under the NDA administration, labeling it as abysmal. Citing alarming dropout rates and inadequate resources, he accused the government of neglecting the sector. Additionally, he flagged recruitment exam scams, including multiple instances of leaked exam papers, as critical issues plaguing the state.
