Tensions simmer as Congress leaders in Karnataka openly discuss the possibility of a change in the chief minister post. While inquiries about a potential shift have arisen, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge reiterated that decisions lie with the party's high command and called for restraint in order to avoid fueling unnecessary issues.

Kharge addressed media queries following claims by some state Congress members hinting at a leadership shift in October. The party helmsman advised, "The decision is the high command's exclusive domain, and anticipating such moves creates unwarranted tensions." Kharge emphasized that the high command maintains the sole authority to take any further action.

Speculation remains rife since Congress ascended to power in Karnataka, with conjectures of a rotational leadership model involving Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar running the government for 2.5 years each. However, the party has yet to approve or deny such claims officially, with Siddaramaiah currently serving as chief minister alongside Shivakumar as his deputy.
