Senior BJP figure PVN Madhav is on the verge of ascending to the position of Andhra Pradesh BJP president, succeeding D Purandeswari. The transition follows Madhav's emergence as the sole nominee for the role, marking a seamless transition in leadership.
Madhav, who formerly served as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC), submitted five sets of nomination documents, making his election largely procedural, a party leader informed PTI. The new appointment is expected to be confirmed without contest.
Madhav steps into the shoes of MP D Purandeswari, whose two-year tenure saw the BJP achieve commendable progress in state elections. Her leadership culminated in a successful campaign for the upcoming 2024 general elections.
