Trump Calls for Cut in Elon Musk's Federal Subsidies
President Donald Trump has suggested that the subsidies received by Elon Musk's companies should be reassessed to save government funds. He claims Musk might have to stop operations without them, affecting SpaceX and Tesla. Trump proposed that the efficiency department should evaluate the potential financial savings.

In a pointed remark on Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump advocated for a reevaluation of the federal subsidies allocated to companies owned by Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Trump highlighted that these financial aids might be the largest ever bestowed upon an individual, suggesting that without them, Musk might face operational setbacks.
He went further to imply that ceasing these subsidies could lead to significant savings for the federal government, potentially forcing Musk to reconsider the scale of his ventures in the United States, and possibly return to South Africa if unable to sustain without the financial support.
Trump's remarks were shared on the social media platform Truth Social, questioning the future of rocket launches, satellite deployments, and electric car production without continued governmental support. The former President also humorously suggested that the efficiency department, referred to as DOGE, should examine the potential budgetary benefits.
