Prime Minister Narendra Modi faces criticism from the Congress party as he embarks on a five-nation tour amid escalating domestic concerns. The Congress accuses Modi of neglecting pressing issues in India, including the unrest in Manipur and recent military challenges.
The political tension was intensified by claims from US President Donald Trump about having mediated a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, as well as accusations related to the setbacks in Operation Sindoor. Despite the criticism, Modi's trip focuses on India's participation in the upcoming BRICS Summit in Brazil and fortifying diplomatic relations with key nations in the Global South.
The eight-day tour will see the prime minister visiting countries such as Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, and Namibia. The Congress, meanwhile, continues to press Modi on why he hasn't yet visited violence-hit regions like Manipur.
