Former Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan remains in critical condition at a private hospital after suffering a cardiac attack. A government-appointed team has assessed the treatment given to the 101-year-old leader, observing his response to medications as positive.
A seven-member specialist team from the Government Medical College reviewed the medical care provided to Achuthanandan, who remains under close observation. His health condition, while serious, is being monitored continually with necessary adjustments to his ventilator, CRRT, and antibiotics.
A towering figure in Kerala politics, Achuthanandan holds a special place as the last surviving founding member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) formed in 1964. His contributions to social justice and workers' rights have left a significant impact during and beyond his tenure as Chief Minister from 2006 to 2011.
