Senior Trinamool Congress leader and Member of Parliament, Sougata Roy, has been diagnosed with acute delirium, according to a statement from a private hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

Mr. Roy, who is in his seventies, was admitted on June 22 after experiencing symptoms such as drowsiness, recurrent falls, and slurred speech. He was also found to have high potassium levels.

Medical reports suggest his acute delirium is linked to Wernicke's Encephalopathy, alongside other health concerns like lower respiratory tract infection and cerebral atrophy. The MP remains drowsy yet arousable, with stable vital signs.
