Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt was re-elected as the president of the Uttarakhand BJP on Tuesday. The announcement was made by the party's central observer, Harsh Malhotra, during an event attended by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and senior party leaders, including state in-charge Dushyant Gautam.
Expressing his gratitude, Bhatt thanked the central leadership for their trust and reiterated his commitment to strengthening the party in the state. His re-election marks the first time since Uttarakhand's creation that a state unit president has served consecutive terms.
Bhatt first took on the role of Uttarakhand BJP chief in 2022, succeeding Madan Kaushik. His unopposed candidature for the post made his re-election a foregone conclusion.
