Congress Conveys Confidence: No Leadership Change in Karnataka

Amid growing tensions within Karnataka's Congress unit, AICC General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala categorically dismissed talks of leadership change, emphasizing the party's stability. At a press conference attended by Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, Surjewala underscored the importance of assessing the accomplishments of MLAs and MPs across the state.

Surjewala clarified that the objective of his interactions with local leaders was to review their contributions over the past two years. He urged the MLAs to align their actions with the promises of the Congress party, ensuring accountability to their constituents by delivering a report of their activities and achievements in office.

In response to criticism from the BJP concerning Congress' five social guarantees, Surjewala asserted the party's unwavering commitment to these initiatives. He stated that contrary to BJP propaganda, the schemes will continue to benefit the public. Surjewala also cautioned Congress MLAs against airing grievances publicly, advocating for internal dialogue through established channels.
