Ravindra Chavan Elected as Maharashtra BJP President

Ravindra Chavan has been unanimously elected as the Maharashtra President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Announced by Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, Chavan replaces Chandrashekhar Bawankule. In a significant political development, Ravindra Chavan was unanimously elected as the Maharashtra President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a party meeting on Tuesday. The announcement was made by Union Minister and BJP's central observer, Kiren Rijiju.

Chavan, known for his close association with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, takes over the role from Chandrashekhar Bawankule, who has been serving as the state unit president since August 2022. With this election, Chavan becomes the 12th president of Maharashtra's BJP unit.

A seasoned politician, Chavan has been actively involved in the party as the working president since January. He has represented Dombivli assembly constituency in Thane district as a four-time MLA and held ministerial positions, including Minister of State and Public Works Minister, under different administrations.
