Diplomatic Tensions: U.S. Recalls Top Envoy from Colombia

The Trump administration has taken decisive action by recalling a top diplomat from the U.S. Embassy in Bogota, citing policy differences with Colombia's current government, according to a statement from the U.S. State Department released on Thursday.

John McNamara, the Chargé d'Affaires ad interim, has been summoned back to Washington for consultations as part of what the department describes as efforts to express deep concerns over the current bilateral relationship with Colombia.
