In a politically charged development, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has alleged that four Maharashtra ministers and several government officials were ensnared in a 'honeytrap' scheme. These accusations are stirring controversy, particularly as they relate to a significant political split within the Shiv Sena.
Raut claims the alleged manipulation compelled several members to defect, subsequently joining the faction led by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Shinde had previously led a rebellion against then-party chief Uddhav Thackeray's leadership. Despite Raut's assertions, BJP leaders have dismissed these claims as unfounded and lacking substance.
Dubbed as a strategic ploy, BJP ministers, including Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, have urged Raut to present any evidence. The ongoing allegations underscore the turbulent political landscape in Maharashtra, as opposition figures demand further investigation into the claims.
