Authorities have apprehended five individuals in connection with the murder of a 29-year-old Congress leader in Telangana's Medak district. The incident, which occurred on July 14, stemmed from ongoing land and financial disputes.
The victim, M Anil, secretary of the Medak district Congress SC cell, was traveling in Kulcharam mandal when assailants executed their plan. The perpetrators followed him in two vehicles; one overtook his car, blocking his path, before a gunman fired four rounds.
Police are intensifying efforts to capture the two remaining fugitives. Recovered evidence includes four vehicles and a pistol. The case continues under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act, as the community awaits justice.
