The Assam State BJP has announced its determination to continue eviction drives aimed at reclaiming illegally encroached lands. According to the party, this initiative is more than an administrative measure; it represents a crucial stand to protect the very existence of Assam.
In a statement, BJP Spokesperson Kalyan Gogoi, reflecting sentiments of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, affirmed that the campaign will press on until the sacrifices of the Assam movement's martyrs are honored. Gogoi criticized Congress for allegedly facilitating the settlement of Bangladeshi Muslims, compromising Assamese identity for electoral gains, and contributing to an existential crisis.
Gogoi commended Chief Minister Sarma's leadership in defending Assam's language, culture, and political rights, while accusing Congress of deliberately altering the state's demographic profile for political advantage. Applauding Sarma's proactive stance, Gogoi expressed hope for a secured future for the indigenous communities, emphasizing enduring resilience amidst adversity.
