A delegation spearheaded by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is scheduled to travel to the national capital to gather cross-party support for a 42 percent reservation for Backward Classes in local body elections, according to official sources.

Arriving in Delhi by afternoon, Reddy plans to meet various Union Ministers and prominent Congress leaders, insiders revealed. The initiative's goal is to discuss the Telangana caste survey's modalities and seek Congressional backing for the swift introduction of the BC Bill in Parliament.

In a bid to strengthen their proposal, the delegation will also appeal for the incorporation of caste data in the national census, with 100 Congress MPs rallying behind this major legislative effort.
