A heated controversy has emerged following allegations that Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav held a meeting in a mosque on Parliament Street, New Delhi. Denying these claims, party MP Zia Ur Rehman Barq stated no such meeting took place, criticizing the uproar as unnecessary.

In response to the escalating issue, Yadav highlighted that faith should unite rather than divide people, accusing the BJP of exploiting religion as a dividing force. He emphasized the value of any belief system that fosters connection and trust, while condemning the BJP's alleged divisive tactics.

Counter-allegations from BJP figures further intensified the dispute. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak accused Yadav of utilizing religious sites for political aims, violating constitutional principles. Simultaneously, BJP Minority Morcha National President Jamal Siddiqui condemned the conversion of religious venues into political hubs, specifically targeting Samajwadi Party MP Mohibullah Nadvi.
