In a heated session on Wednesday, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan criticized the opposition, dubbing the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) a "hullad bloc" for allegedly avoiding debates on significant issues and disrupting parliamentary proceedings. Chouhan accused the alliance of hypocrisy for seeking discussions outside but thwarting them within the House.
Earlier, INDIA bloc MPs staged their second consecutive day of protests at Parliament's Makar Dwar, expressing opposition to the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar. The leaders, confronting the alleged disenfranchisement of eligible voters, demanded the revision be halted immediately.
The protests saw prominent figures like Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav holding placards advocating for democracy and constitutional rights. Despite these protests, Lok Sabha proceedings managed a brief run, addressing the introduction of the 'National Sports Governance Bill, 2025', before further adjournments were prompted by continued opposition resistance.
