Russia and Ukraine: Renewed Peace Talks in Istanbul
Russian negotiators travel to Turkey for peace talks with Ukraine after a seven-week hiatus. Despite previous discussions resulting in prisoner exchanges, no ceasefire has been achieved. President Trump threatens new sanctions, but President Putin is determined to continue until Western countries engage on his terms.

Russian negotiators are en route to Istanbul for their first peace discussions with Ukraine in over seven weeks, according to Russian news agencies. The state agency TASS announced that talks are set for Wednesday.
Flight data from Flightradar24 confirmed that the delegation's aircraft, previously used in Istanbul negotiations, departed Moscow. Prior diplomatic exchanges in Istanbul led to prisoner swaps but failed to secure a ceasefire.
U.S. President Donald Trump has recently threatened imposing additional sanctions on Russia if a peace agreement is not reached soon. However, sources close to the Kremlin indicate that President Putin remains firm on continuing military actions until Western nations meet his conditions for peace.
