The Opposition has intensified its call for a debate in the Rajya Sabha concerning the recent Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, pushing for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be present. This demand surfaced at the initial Business Advisory Committee meeting of the monsoon session.
The session, overseen by Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, saw various party leaders, including J P Nadda and Kiren Rijiju, discuss crucial issues. Earlier postponements of the meeting were due to Jagdeep Dhankhar's resignation from the vice-presidency on the first session day.
Congress' Deputy Leader in Rajya Sabha, Pramod Tiwari, emphasized the two-day, 16-hour debate should proceed following its commencement in the Lok Sabha and ensured no additional resolutions are introduced. There's a strong demand for the Prime Minister's involvement in these discussions.
