Karnataka Politics: BJP's Vijayendra vs. CM Siddaramaiah over GST Notices

Karnataka BJP President B Y Vijayendra has raised serious allegations against the state's Commercial Tax Department, asserting they have issued GST notices to small traders based on revenue goals purportedly set by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Vijayendra implores the government to retract these notices.

The BJP has expressed solidarity with the small and micro traders' planned protest against GST notices linked to UPI transactions, which is set to trigger a statewide boycott and strike on July 25. Traders allege unfair tax demands and claim they are being indiscriminately targeted without proper review.

Beyond this, Vijayendra notes other issues, including alleged real estate improprieties tied to Siddaramaiah's family, which he believes warrant a CBI investigation. Additionally, he criticizes the Congress government for unmet development funding promises and inadequately addressing agricultural shortages.
