For the fourth consecutive day, opposition parties are set to protest in Parliament against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) conducted by the Election Commission. The opposition alleges the revision is being used for voter manipulation ahead of assembly elections, demanding a discussion in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

Prominent leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, and DMK MP Kanimozhi have been vocal in their protests, with multiple Congress MPs moving adjournment motions in Rajya Sabha. The controversy primarily surrounds Bihar, where the election-related exercise has raised fears of disenfranchisement, especially within vulnerable communities.

Concerns over the SIR's impact on socio-economically disadvantaged groups and migratory populations have been highlighted by leaders like Neeraj Dangi. The opposition has called for the suspension of parliamentary procedures to prioritize a discussion on these urgent electoral issues, affecting not just Bihar but also potentially West Bengal and the entire nation.
