In New Delhi, the Tipra Motha Party (TMP) delegation, spearheaded by leader Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, met with BJP national president J P Nadda. The focus of the meeting was the urgent need for the Special Intensive Revision of Tripura's electoral rolls and the swift implementation of the Tiprasa Accord. The accord, promised by the Centre prior to the Lok Sabha elections, aims to benefit Tripura's indigenous population.
Having inked an agreement with the Centre and the state government for the indigenous population's development, TMP later joined the BJP-led coalition government just before the last Lok Sabha polls. The party's press release mentioned topics such as national security concerns over tensions in Bangladesh, specifically regarding minority mistreatment.
The gathering included notable figures like Kriti Devi Debbarman, MP for Tripura East, and state Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma. Concurrently, the TMP delegation petitioned Chief Election Commissioner Gyaneshan Kumar for an error-free voter list revision, crucial for the upcoming Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council elections.
