Amid heightened political tensions, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar criticized opposition MLAs for donning black shirts in protest during the assembly's monsoon session. The gesture was aimed at opposing the special intensive revision of electoral rolls, a move fueling the current political discord.
The session, marked as the last before upcoming elections, saw an animated scene as opposition MLAs vocally opposed the proceedings. Speaker Nand Kishor Yadav, steering the session, attempted to maintain order, emphasizing the need for decorum, especially in front of school children observing the House.
With tensions peaking, some JD(U) and BJP members resorted to wearing helmets, expressing concerns over possible aggression by opposition members. The dramatic session ended abruptly as Speaker Yadav adjourned the assembly until afternoon following the uproar.
