On Monday, People's Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti advocated for dialogue over conflict, urging India to halt its war rhetoric with Pakistan. Speaking at an event in Kashmir on the party's 26th foundation day, Mufti emphasized the need for peace and reconciliation.
Mufti reiterated the desires of the Jammu and Kashmir populace for peace with dignity and asked the Indian government to listen to their voices. She urged the central government to recognize the impact of their policies on the region and pursue dialogue instead of hostility with Pakistan.
Highlighting the upcoming Asia Cup, Mufti insisted that sports should not be entangled with political strife. She criticized the ongoing arms race, calling attention to India's socio-economic challenges and the need for better resource allocation.
