In a forceful critique directed at the central government, Congress held Home Minister Amit Shah accountable for the security flaws that resulted in the Pahalgam attack, urging the government to disclose the number of Indian jets downed during Operation Sindoor.
During a special debate in the Lok Sabha, Congress' deputy leader, Gaurav Gogoi, criticized the government concerning U.S. President Donald Trump's claim of leveraging trade negotiations to initiate a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. He questioned, "before whom did Prime Minister Narendra Modi surrender?"
Gogoi further pointed out inconsistencies in the government's stance post-Uri and Pulwama attacks, questioning the thoroughness of Operation Sindoor and pressing the Modi administration for more transparency regarding the situation in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
