A delegation from the opposition Shiv Sena (UBT) met Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan on Monday, calling for the removal of several 'tainted, corrupt and insensitive' ministers from office. Central to their demands were ministers from a rival Shiv Sena faction.
The delegation presented a letter urging the resignation of ministers Yogesh Kadam, Sanjay Shirsat, and Sanjay Rathod, along with a call for Agriculture Minister and NCP leader Manikrao Kokate's dismissal over insensitive remarks and alleged misconduct during legislative sessions. Additionally, they called for state Fisheries and Ports Minister Nitesh Rane's resignation over remarks causing communal division.
Allegations also surfaced against Kadam for allegedly operating a dance bar in Mumbai under his mother's permit, and Shirsat was recently embroiled in controversy after a video suggested possible financial misconduct, despite his denials. The group further accused Minister Sanjay Rathod of corruption in departmental appointments, a serious charge adding to the political turmoil.
