In a fierce critique, Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa condemned Congress over remarks by P Chidambaram regarding Operation Sindoor, labeling the comments as 'very shameful.' Sirsa accused Chidambaram of echoing the sentiments of Pakistan and China, bringing to light allegations that Congress is aligning with foreign adversaries.
Chidambaram, the former Home Minister, claimed there was no evidence of Pakistani involvement in the Pahalgam terror attack. BJP MP Santosh Pandey criticized Chidambaram, likening him to an owl that sees only in darkness, insinuating a lack of awareness towards cross-border terrorism realities.
The statements sparked a political storm as they came amidst a parliamentary discussion on India's counter-response to the deadly attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, which resulted in 26 casualties. BJP MP Anurag Thakur joined the fray, accusing Congress of defending Pakistani interests more than Pakistan itself, questioning the party's stance on terror.
