Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam President Vijay took a critical stance against the BJP-led Centre and the ruling DMK, accusing them of exploiting the legacy of the Chola emperors for political gain.
Vijay's comments follow Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement of grand statues dedicated to Chola kings Rajaraja and Rajendra Chola in Tamil Nadu, which he believes is an attempt to appropriate Chola heritage and sway public sentiment.
Vijay charged that the DMK has neglected its duty to preserve Tamil pride and history, and warned of political repercussions for both parties in the forthcoming 2026 Assembly elections.
