On Tuesday, Congress MP Imran Masood launched a scathing critique of the central government's strategy concerning Operation Sindoor and their policy on Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Masood insinuated that the government, influenced by external pressure, failed to capitalize on a vital opportunity to assert control over PoK.
He provocatively stated that when advancements were being made in PoK, the government capitulated, citing alleged American influence. The critique aligns with US President Donald Trump's claims that he mediated a ceasefire by leveraging trade talks. Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar dismissed any alleged diplomatic exchanges, reaffirming India's firm anti-terrorism resolve without succumbing to commercial negotiations.
Further expressing dissent, Masood queried the rapid resolution of Operation Mahadev and criticized a perceived inconsistency in governmental actions. Concurrently, BJP MP Baijayant Panda informed the House of successful anti-terror efforts in J&K, yet Masood accused the government of prioritizing economic ties over security concerns.
