Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi has made demands for an inquiry into the desilting activities in Delhi, raising allegations against the BJP for misusing funds allocated for the project. This comes as parts of the city experience severe waterlogging despite significant expenses aimed to prevent such issues.
During her visit to Goa, Atishi questioned whether the funds were improperly used by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, her deputy Parvesh Verma, or if they were directed to BJP's coffers. She highlighted the irony in the ruling party's promise of a waterlogging-free season as new areas face flooding.
Atishi further criticized the ruling BJP both in Delhi and Goa, asserting that the AAP is emerging as a credible political alternative amid claims of corruption under Pramod Sawant's leadership, with even ministers from BJP reportedly voicing dissent.
