West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has raised concerns over an incident involving a Bengali-speaking woman and her child, who she claims were assaulted and threatened in Delhi. Her comments follow Delhi Police's rejection of a video she shared, which they labeled 'fabricated' and 'politically motivated.'
Banerjee addressed an audience in Birbhum district, encouraging Bengali-speaking migrant workers facing harassment in BJP-ruled states to return to West Bengal. She assured them of welfare facilities and questioned the central government's selective deployment of human rights and women's commissions.
Highlighting Bengal's progress, she noted the creation of 75 crore man-days and the emergence of new industries. She emphasized her commitment to defending the Bengali language and culture against any attempts of undermining them in other states.
