In a heated critique, Congress MP Imran Pratapgarhi accused the ruling BJP-led Central government of deflecting blame onto the Congress for its handling of the recent Pahalgam terror attack. He questioned the security lapse allowing terrorists into a tourist-heavy area and criticized past links with Pakistan, challenging the government's accountability.

Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, further intensified the scrutiny by labeling the Pahalgam attack as an "intelligence failure" during a debate on Operation Sindoor. He urged Home Minister Amit Shah to assume responsibility and cited multiple intelligence lapses since the BJP took power, questioning the government's failure to address these recurring security breaches.

Similarly, Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav demanded that the BJP government take full responsibility for the Pahalgam attack, emphasizing tourists' trust in government assurances of normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir. Yadav questioned the administration's narrative of security, urging clarity on the measures to prevent such incidents and protect Indian lives.
