In a heated confrontation, Congress MP KC Venugopal criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his silence regarding US President Donald Trump's repeated assertions of mediating peace between India and Pakistan. Venugopal demanded clarity from Modi, questioning why the Prime Minister avoided confronting Trump's statements directly.

Venugopal persistently pressed for an explanation, querying if Trump's claims were true or fabricated. Supporting Venugopal, Congress MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla questioned Modi's reluctance to mention Trump by name while commenting on the issue. He asked, "What is this fear?" indicating a need for transparency.

Amid the opposition's discontent, Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar clarified that there had been no communication concerning a ceasefire between Modi and Trump before a reported Pakistani attack in May, which the Indian Armed Forces claimed to have thwarted successfully.
