The Trinamool Congress spearheads a challenge against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process unfolding in Bihar, with mounting concerns over its impact on voter rights. Party members are poised to raise the issue vigorously in the parliamentary arena, Deputy Leader Sagarika Ghose confirmed.
During a conversation with PTI, Ghose highlighted the participation of opposition parties in deliberations concerning the Pahalgam attack, pivoting to emphasize the urgency of addressing the SIR issue. Despite persistent notice submissions, Ghose lamented the lack of acknowledgment in Parliament.
Allegations that the BJP may be leveraging the Election Commission for its own purposes have sparked protests among opposition MPs, who fear the disenfranchisement of lakhs of voters could undermine democracy's foundational structure. The exercise is underway in Bihar but is suspected to be targeting West Bengal, according to opposition claims.
