Imran Masood, a Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP, launched a scathing critique against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. Masood argued that Modi's refusal to publicly reject US President Donald Trump's assertion of mediating a ceasefire deal between India and Pakistan depicts a weakened Indian leadership stance.
According to Masood, Prime Minister Modi appeared to be overshadowed by Trump's bravado. He pointed out that despite Modi's claims of no external obstruction to India's military operations, a mere tweet seemed to halt his actions. Masood questioned whether Modi's leadership was being influenced more by rhetorical posturing than actual diplomatic strength.
Masood also raised concerns about the NDA-led government's priorities, suggesting that India might be compromising its national dignity for favorable trade conditions with the US. He chastised Modi for remaining silent on China's issues and repeatedly called out Trump's claims, calling into question India's position as a sovereign nation on the international stage.
