In a dramatic turn of events, Maulana Sajid Rashidi, an influential cleric, faced an assault from self-identified members of the Samajwadi Party following a televised debate in Noida. The altercation was allegedly motivated by Rashidi's controversial remarks about MP Dimple Yadav's recent mosque visit.

The confrontation was captured in a video by Kuldeep Bhati, who claimed responsibility on social media. The video, shared on platform 'X', showed Rashidi being slapped amidst strong words about defending the dignity of Indian women. Bhati asserted that similar actions would follow against any derogatory remarks.

The police reported that Rashidi has filed complaints against three individuals involved. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party spokesperson Fakhrul Hasan Chand acknowledged the incident, clarifying the party's stance against violence while affirming the ongoing legal process.
