In a striking statement during a Rajya Sabha discussion, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar asserted that no interactions occurred between President Trump and Prime Minister Modi from April 22 to June 16, amid Operation Sindoor. He urged listeners to pay attention to this fact.

Jaishankar emphasized India's firm stance against external mediation in India-Pakistan affairs, advocating for bilateral dialogue only. He noted that any cessation of conflict would require a formal request from Pakistan via the DGMO. Multiple countries had contacted India to gauge the severity of Operation Sindoor, but India consistently rejected mediation offers.

Addressing Congress, Jaishankar accused them of discomfort with historical truths, particularly concerning the Indus Water Treaty. He criticized Jawaharlal Nehru's approach in 1960, contrasting it with PM Modi's corrective measures. He stressed the treaty's significance and called out Congress for their past strategies.
