Union Minister Giriraj Singh has lashed out at Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for his controversial remarks about Operation Sindoor. Singh expressed astonishment at Gandhi's jest about military operations, saying it was inappropriate for someone in his position to find 'fun' in such serious undertakings.
Gandhi, on the other hand, has been vocal about what he sees as a deficiency in the current government's political will compared to the resolve shown during the 1971 war under Indira Gandhi's leadership. He emphasized that the armed forces need complete freedom and robust political backing, which he claims is lacking today.
Drawing parallels between historical and recent military actions, Gandhi criticized Defense Minister Rajnath Singh's comparison of the 1971 war and Operation Sindoor. He further argued that political constraints have hampered the effectiveness of military operations, such as the directive to avoid targeting Pakistani military infrastructure during air raids, which he believes led to the loss of fighter jets.
