EPS Slams Tamil Nadu Government Over Honour Killing: 'A Failure Model'

AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) has launched a fierce criticism of the DMK-led Tamil Nadu government, labeling it a 'failure model' in response to the recent honour killing of a young IT professional in Thoothukudi district. EPS holds the state government accountable for the escalating crimes linked to caste-based violence and honour killings throughout Tamil Nadu.

Taking to social media platform X, EPS remarked, 'Under the Stalin-led Failure Model regime, honour killings are increasing, and caste-related conflicts persist.' He expressed distress over the news of the murder of software engineer Kavin near Tiruchendur, adding that the situation has become tense and the local police are acting unilaterally. He called for the government to deliver justice to the victim's family and enforce strict legal measures against the offenders.

Reacting to the incident, actor-politician Kamal Haasan also issued a strong statement, condemning the killing of Kavin Selva Ganesh. Haasan urged the Tamil Nadu government to ensure that the perpetrators are held accountable and receive severe punishment. He emphasized the need for a united political front against caste-based violence and expressed his condolences to Kavin's family. The murder, as per police reports, was allegedly carried out by the brother of Kavin's long-term partner, reflecting familial opposition to their inter-caste relationship.
