Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday addressed the Rajya Sabha, acknowledging ongoing infiltration incidents in Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan's success in certain terror attacks. However, Shah emphasized a decline in these occurrences, affirming that the Narendra Modi government remains dedicated to eradicating terrorism and preventing further infiltrations.
In a direct critique of the Congress party, Shah accused them of failing to intimidate terrorists during their tenure, thereby allowing terrorism to spread due to votebank-focused politics. He contrasted this with the Modi government's decisive responses, such as airstrikes and surgical strikes, which he claimed have instilled fear in adversaries.
Shah assured that operations like Mahadev would continue dismantling terrorist networks, promising the liberation of Jammu and Kashmir from terrorism. Criticizing former UPA Minister P. Chidambaram's skepticism of Operation Sindoor, Shah challenged him to clarify his stance on the perpetrators of the Pahalgam attack—aided by Pakistan-based forces.
