On Wednesday, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah launched a scathing attack on the central government, accusing it of a deliberate reduction in the state's urea allocation. He stated that the resulting shortage is adversely impacting farmers at a crucial time as sowing activities are ramping up following favorable rains.

The Chief Minister criticized the BJP-led protests, labeling them politically motivated. He alleged financial mismanagement by the previous BJP government, which he claimed undertook unapproved works worth Rs 2.70 lakh crore. Despite these challenges, Siddaramaiah showcased significant economic strides, citing Karnataka's top position in per capita income and positive employment indicators.

During a review meeting, Siddaramaiah emphasized the necessity for transparent utilization of a Rs 50 crore developmental grant and stressed the importance of addressing grievances and technical hurdles. He motivated legislators to reinforce the state's five guarantee schemes as pivotal to enhancing per capita income. This was framed as a matter of pride for Karnataka.
