Political Tensions Rise as DMK Labels EPS a 'BJP Slave'
DMK's TKS Elangovan criticized EPS, branding him a 'BJP slave' amid political tensions in Tamil Nadu. EPS countered by calling the DMK government a failure, following a recent honor killing incident. The political scenario heats up as AIADMK and BJP prepare for the 2026 assembly elections.

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) spokesperson, TKS Elangovan, has launched a scathing attack on the Leader of the Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS), accusing him of being subservient to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This statement comes in the wake of the expulsion of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam (OPS) from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), a move that has intensified the political drama.
Elangovan claims that EPS is keen to marginalize leaders like OPS to safeguard his position within the party. "The BJP likely believes that EPS's allegiance ensures he will not allow OPS back into AIADMK," remarked Elangovan to news agency ANI. The rivalry and strategic alignments are part of a larger political narrative with looming elections.
In response, EPS has vehemently criticized the DMK-led Tamil Nadu government, deriding it as a "failed model" in the face of increased caste-based crimes, including an honor killing of an IT professional in Thoothukudi district. Using the platform X, EPS condemned the handling of these issues, urging the government to deliver justice to the affected families.
