Y S Sharmila, the president of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee, has criticized the state government's 'Annadatha Sukhibava' scheme for not fully including all intended beneficiaries. She claims nearly 30 lakh farmers have been inadvertently excluded from the financial assistance meant under this initiative.
The scheme, originally promised to offer Rs 20,000 annually to farmers, has come under fire as it appears only partially state-funded. Allegations suggest this pledge relies heavily on the Centre's PM-Kisan contribution of Rs 6,000, contrary to the electoral assurances given by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Sharmila has questioned the lack of transparency regarding the involvement of central funds in this scheme, urging the government to honor its original promise by fully dedicating state resources to the initiative. The ruling TDP has yet to respond to these allegations.
