Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of engaging in what he terms 'dangerous behaviour' designed to discredit constitutional bodies, particularly the Election Commission. Rijiju claims this is part of a broader effort by Gandhi to undermine India's democratic framework.
Responding to Gandhi's 'vote chori' allegations against the poll authority, Rijiju described the Congress leader's actions as 'childish'. He argued that Gandhi resorts to such accusations following electoral defeats, while remaining silent on the Election Commission's role when Congress wins.
The parliamentary Monsoon session, which started on July 21, has been fraught with turmoil due to persistent opposition protests over electoral roll revisions in Bihar. Rijiju views Gandhi's criticism as a 'malicious campaign' intended to harm India's democratic institutions.
