The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a scathing critique of the Congress-led UPA government, accusing it of fabricating a 'saffron terror' narrative around the 2008 Malegaon blast case. This assertion comes following claims from a former police officer, Mehiboob Mujawar, who participated in the case's investigation.
At a press conference at the BJP headquarters, party MP and spokesperson Sambit Patra alleged political machinations aimed at tarnishing Sanatan dharma. He claimed that Congress attempted to manipulate the narrative for votebank politics, using figures such as RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat as scapegoats in their strategy.
Patra contended the accusations from the Congress were part of a broader campaign of vendetta against the BJP and Hindu organizations. He added that the eventual court acquittals reflect the baseless nature of these allegations, framing the struggle as a fight for truth and justice.
